4 Raleigh Challenges

The Four Raleigh International Challenges

With 20 years experience we have built an excellent and unrivalled reputation.
As a registered charity, we aim to inspire people from all backgrounds and nationalities to reach their full potential by working together on challenging environmental and community projects around the world.
The unique social and cultural mix on a Raleigh expedition makes for an exciting and developmental experience. Expedition life fosters a sense of mutual responsibility and respect between otherwise socially segregated groups.
28,000 people have shared this experience.
This is your chance.

1. Introduction Weekend

The Introduction Weekend (IW) serves to inform the participants about Raleigh International Expeditions through the introduction of the Raleigh International ethos and life on expedition. The Introduction Weekend helps a participant decide if he/she is ready for expedition.
IW 2004

The IW also serves as an avenue for the RIKL to get to know the participants. A participant’s progress throughout the Weekend will be documented and will be subsequently sent to the respective Raleigh Office in selected Expedition Country, when the participant signs up for an expedition of his/her choice.

2. Fund Raising

After IW, you'll need to fund raise your expedition cost. It may range from RM1,500 to £3,000 for each expedition. These are very achievable amounts, proved by our long list of successful fund-raisers. RIKL will provide the support and guidance.
Jumble Sale
Fund-raising for an expedition can be very challenging. The fund-raising process serves as a training and development process for Venturers. Venturers learn how to organize PRESS conferences, meet deadlines and negotiate with sponsors which helps develop the individual as a whole.

3. The ExpeditionSabah 06A

After sufficient fund is collected and other related processes done, the Venturer will leave for Expedition.

Raleigh International currently runs expeditions in the following countries and dates

4. Back Home

Upon coming home, venturers get in touch with their local support group and serve in the Executive Committee or undertake community or conservation projects that benefits the community. With all the enrichment and skills developed on expeditions, these venturers contribute their knowledge back to the society.
