June 2018: Trail Cleaning @Urban Community Forest

BUKIT PERSEKUTUAN, or Federal Hill, is an unassuming patch of greenery close to the heart of Kuala Lumpur with an impressive range of flora and fauna found in this 74.4ha secondary forest bordered by high-density developments – Damansara to the north, Perdana Botanical Gardens to the east, KL Sentral and Brickfields to the south and Bangsar to the west. In order to preserve this piece of rare greenery in the city, The Malaysia Nature Society (MNS) formed Urban Community Forest on Bukit Persekutuan to maintain it. Raleigh Kuala Lumpur having done many clean up projects and even environmental projects for expeditions will be teaming up with MNS and the Urban Community Forest for a trail maintenance project this June Monthly Meet. We gladly welcome volunteers to join us to preserve this wonderful piece of greenery together! Details of the event as below:

Schedule:
7:30am – Meet up at KL Sentral (Departure Entrance)
8:00am – Depart from KL Sentral to MNS HQ
8:20am – Raleigh Volunteers arrival
8:30am – Raleigh & UFC Introduction, update, safety briefing, etc
9:00am – Trail maintenance start
10:40am – Tea break
11:00am – Trail maintenance continue
12:30pm – Tidy up & debrief
01:00pm – Send back to MRT station
Fee:
Raleigh Members: RM5
Non Member: RM10
(Fee cover food and transportation from MRT station to venue)
Wear:
- Long Pants and sleeves
- Outdoor Shoes
- Hats / Cap
- Gloves
Things to bring:
- Sufficient drinking water
- Light snack*
- Small pack bag
- Mosquito repellent*
