RIKL's New Mission Statement for 2017-2019

Hello Raleighian!

We are proud to present to you our new mission statement after a couple weeks of brainstorming and intense discussion. Here you go.

“We are a non-profit organisation that facilitates youth development through volunteer projects with a focus on community engagement, environmental awareness and adventure, particularly by providing a platform for everyone in Malaysia, with a focus on youth, including marginalised communities, to know about Raleigh expeditions and supporting people to go on expeditions with the purpose of empowering youths to bring positive impact, locally and internationally.”

Thanks to Jia Yaw, our facilitator, with the input from all the committee members who had been through several heavy sessions of discussions during the month of August and September, we are finally here to announce the updated mission statement of Raleigh Kuala Lumpur.

The updated mission statement is not farfetched from what we had been doing all this while, but instead it is a much more focused statement that  is going to define where Raleigh Kuala Lumpur is heading exactly in the near future.

In the 3 days of brainstorming session, it is not only the mission statement that we came out with. We also identified the goals of Raleigh Kuala Lumpur for the year of 2017 to 2019.

Goal 1: Maximize membership growth, retention and participation.

Goal 2: Maintain sufficient financial resources to support our activities and operations.

Goal 3: Strengthen our standard operating procedures and governance.

Goal 4: Enhance the quality of our projects.

Goal 5: Ensure the continuity of RIKL.

Goal 6: Increase visibility of RIKL and its activities.

It is definitely not easy for Raleigh Kuala Lumpur for the past 18 years, which rely solely on volunteers from different walks of life to create a platform for everyone in Malaysia to have the same experiences that we wanted to share with all the youth. By having this mission statement and knowing where exactly we are going, it is to ensure Raleigh Kuala Lumpur as an organization will be able to adapt to internal and external changes and challenges in order to meet all the goals we set.
